Valentina Release 17.5.3 Adds Reporting for MongoDB, New Reports Projects for Xojo

Also improved JavaScript support for ValentinaDB, a new reports property, and improvements to Studio SQL Editor and Data Editor.

Paradigma Software announces the immediate availability of Valentina Release 17.5.3 with improvements across all the Valentina product line of data analysis and developer tools and components. The products are available for download from the Paradigma Software website.

Valentina Studio 17.5.3

Valentina Studio is the free, all purpose database management tool suite. Valentina Studio PRO adds more powerful diagramming features, more powerful visual builder tools for databases, Valentina Forms (similar to Claris Filemaker Pro and Microsoft Access), Reports Designer and more. 

  • [New][Data Editor] Added Sort Ascending, Sort Descending, and Clear Sorting actions to the column context menu. The context menu indicates the active sorting direction.
  • [New][Report Editor] Added the evaluation_time property to Bar Code, Chart, Ellipse, HTML, Label, Line, Picture, Rectangle, and Shape controls. Use this property when a control must be evaluated after its normal placement time.
  • [Imp][Data Editor] Renamed Find Column to Go to Column in menus, tooltips, and the shortcut reference.
  • [Imp][SQL Editor] Improved static analysis and identifier resolution for UNION, UNION DISTINCT, and EXCEPT queries.
  • [Fix][Query Editor] Fixed the scene background refresh when the diagram becomes empty or non-empty, so the hint about placing controls on the diagram is shown correctly.
  • [Fix][Report Editor][MongoDB] New MongoDB report queries now show MongoDB Command instead of SQL as the query type.
  • [Fix][Data Editor][Parquet] Fixed an issue viewing BLOB field data.

The release also includes numerous fixes and minor improvements. Valentina Studio for Windows, macOS and Linux is licensed but free. Valentina Studio PRO is $199. Volume and academic discounts are also available.

Valentina ADK for Xojo 17.5.3

The Xojo development environment supports multiple compile targets, including macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and more. Valentina Database and Reports ADKs are available for Xojo as standalone solutions for developers, and include a free CLIENT component for native integration with Valentina Server. Improvements include:

  • [New][Examples] Added a set of self-contained VReport examples that use the same report layout with different datasources. Each example includes a Xojo project, a report project, the required sample data or setup files, and a README explaining how to run the example and, when required, how to set up its datasource. Examples included for ValentinaDB, SQLite, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, DuckDB, and ODBC, with additional examples for working with Parquet files and JSON.

Valentina ADKs are available for $199 each with discounts for three or more.

Valentina Reports Update 17.5.3

Valentina Reports is a technology platform to design and deploy flexible, highly formatted business reports. The Valentina Reports engine is incorporated into several Paradigma Software products.

ValentinaDB Database Update 17.5.3

ValentinaDB is Paradigma Software advanced, ultra-fast, modern object relational database available across many Paradigma Software solutions. Improvements include:

  • [Imp][JavaScript][macOS] Enabled the fetch function in the JavaScript extension.  This allows JavaScript used in Forms, Reports, and scripts to retrieve data from HTTP/REST services.
  • [Fix][JavaScript] Fixed fetch HTTP response handling. Response.status, Response.statusText, and Response.ok now reflect the HTTP response correctly, while transport failures are reported as errors.
