Also other productivity improvements to Valentina Studio and working with ValentinaDB files.
Paradigma Software announces the immediate availability of Valentina Release 17.5 with improvements across all the Valentina product line of data analysis and developer tools and components. The products are available for download from the Paradigma Software website.
Valentina Studio 17.5
Valentina Studio is the free, all purpose database management tool suite. Valentina Studio PRO adds more powerful diagramming features, more powerful visual builder tools for databases, Valentina Forms (similar to Claris Filemaker Pro and Microsoft Access), Reports Designer and more.
- [New][SQL Editor][Pro] Visual EXPLAIN (of SQL). Works with all databases that support this feature (not available for MongoDB or SQLite). You can try it in Studio Free Edition up to 3 times per launch.
- [New][Data Editor] New button to easy locate a Field you need. Helps when a table has many fields.
- [New][Schema Editor] Link objects of all types now have the contextual menu item: “Open Data Editor”. Double clicking a Link also automatically opens it in the Data Editor, similar to Table objects.
- [Imp][Schema Editor] For ValentinaDB, adds a confirmation dialog, related to the 'Compressed' checkbox in the Inspector panel.
Valentina Studio for Windows, macOS and Linux is licensed but free. Valentina Studio Pro costs $199 per OS license and includes 12 months of free updates. Valentina Studio UNIVERSAL is a single license that works on all three operating systems and licensed on a user basis. Volume and academic discounts are also available.
Valentina Server 17.5
Valentina Server is a powerful platform for building network or cloud based client-server or server-only solutions. Valentina Server includes three built in database servers: ValentinaDB Server, Valentina SQLite Server and Valentina DuckDB Server. With support for both internal data sources as well as external data sources (including MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, MongoDB and more), it also includes two other servers that can leverage all supported data sources. These include:
- Valentina Reports Server. Serve visually compelling reports with charts, graphs, bar/QR codes, images and more from the supported data sources as images, html or PDF. Deliver them using the built in email services and scheduler. You can allow customers to view them on a network using the free Report Viewer. Reports support two scripting systems: Python and JavaScript.
- Valentina Forms Server. Serve custom, visual forms (similar to Microsoft® Access or Claris® FileMaker Pro) from Valentina Server (on macOS, Windows or Linux) to anyone using the free form hosting system built into free Valentina Studio.
Improvements in Valentina Server 17.5 include:
- [Imp] [DuckDB Server] [SQLite Server] On start, Valentina Server creates empty directories 'databases_duckdb' and 'databases_sqlite', so that user can drag and drop databases into those directories.
Valentina Server is available as a standalone product or as an OEM solution for solution providers. You can use Valentina Server with five simultaneous connections for free on macOS, Windows and Linux. Standalone, commercial versions start at $299. Valentina Developer Network lets system integrators and solution providers deploy copies of Valentina Server to their customers royalty free and starts at $599.
ValentinaDB Update 17.5
ValentinaDB is Paradigma Software advanced, object relational database and available in ValentinaDB Server (a part of Valentina Server) and ValentinaDB ADKs (developer components for adding runtime database support to applications). Paradigma Software officially added support for custom extensions (built in C, C++, Python, and JavaScript) to create custom functions and procedures in Valentina 16 in September 2025. Paradigma Software offers code examples, including free extensions on the Paradigma Software repository on GitHub. What's new:
- [Imp] Optimized opening of files to do less work.
Valentina Reports Update 17.5
Valentina Reports ADKs allow developers to embed reporting into their applications. ADKs are available for many native development systems including C/C++, Java, .NET, Swift, Xojo and many more on Windows, macOS & Linux. Valentina Reports Server is a part of Valentina Server.
- [New][VReport] Export Reports to ODS format. ODS file ( Open Document Spreadsheet) is an open-source spreadsheet format used to store, organize, and analyze data in rows and columns.
Valentina Reports ADK is licensed by the operating system and development platform and costs $199.
